Jo Bennett has a long record of Norwalk community service and helping vulnerable populations which include serving as a Human Rights Commissioner and volunteering with our Emergency Response Team and in our Person-to-Person food pantry in South Norwalk. She also volunteers as a bereavement companion with Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, and as a guide with Achilles Connecticut, a nonprofit that helps individuals with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection.

She also served on the 2024-2025 Norwalk Charter Revision Commission,

A marketing professional and resident of Norwalk for more than 25 years, Jo has lived in Silvermine with her husband, Jeff, for more than a decade. She’s been in Norwalk since 1995,  previously enjoyed living in South Norwalk and West Norwalk.

She is a lifelong Democrat who loves Norwalk and believes that we need checks and balances to meet the needs of our rapidly growing city and its constituents. As the future gets more complicated, we cannot succeed with single-party rule.

Her life and career have been about building bridges. She is the Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator at Malta House, a nonprofit located here in Norwalk.  Prior, I worked in marketing roles at Pitney Bowes and Gartner, with a focus on engaging constituents, brand building and forging cross-departmental relationships.
